A cruising sailboat is a sailing yacht that is suitable for long-distance travel and offers enough amenities to live aboard the boat, yet is small enough to not require a professional crew. Sailing cruising sailboats are designed for multi-day voyages with the capacity for overnight passage making and they offer comfort, habitability and life on board: spaces are well delimited with cabins isolated and bathrooms and toilets are well located, and they offer a kitchen and a dining area. They also provide storage of provisions for the crew in water, energy or even food. Their range and endurance relies primarily on sail power but also on engine power if the navigation must be done against the current or to arrive at the stopover on time. Cruising sailboats are easy to handle, often with a reduced crew and they offer safety equippment to sail at sea and at anchor.
